About the Author
Alex Gadala
Alex Gadala is a Dominican-American author and musician. Born in the Dominican Republic and proudly rooted in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The son of Salvadoran parents and descendant of Christian Arabs from Bethlehem, his life and creative work reflect a mosaic of cultures, disciplines, and personal transformations.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame du Lac, Alex contributed to published research in nuclear physics before building a successful career as a software developer. Alongside his scientific and technical path, he’s also nurtured a deep love for music, language, and storytelling, led by curiosity and a desire to create something meaningful and driven by the hope that what he makes—whether in code, music, or prose—might resonate with others or leave behind something worth remembering.
Through the Path of the Silent Mockingbird is his debut novel: a hauntingly poetic mystery born quietly over years of reflection and rooted in a song he composed on the day he lost a close friend. Told with lyrical nuance and enriched by hand-drawn art, it’s a story of silence, secrets, and the unrelenting pull of truth. The novel explores loss, memory, and the quiet voices that refuse to be ignored.
This novel is the first installment in a planned trilogy of interconnected books, each tracing the emotional and moral evolution of its central characters through the echoing consequences of loss, guilt, and redemption.
At the same time, Alex is preparing a trilogy of musical albums drawing from his multicultural roots, weaving together elements of rock, trova, and Latin rhythms—a celebration of identity and sound, deeply personal and sonically diverse. A multi-sensory exploration of story, sound, and soul.
Alex believes creativity is a way of honoring God and the people, places, and passions that have shaped his life, an offering made in gratitude for all that he’s been given, and all those who’ve walked with him along the way.
